Scope

The “Grand River Upper Reach Revitalization: Sea Lamprey Control and Habitat Improvement Project” includes evaluation and potential removal of the Sixth Street dam, habitat restoration and installation of a new structure to prevent invasive sea lamprey from upstream migration.

Objectives include public safety and flood control, sea lamprey control, fish passage, and improved recreation opportunities.

The project is undergoing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) from 2026-2028 to evaluate impacts and feasible alternatives for a new structure.
